Kyle Scarlett
Kyle Scarlett serves as the Family Discipleship Pastor at Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC. He has served in churches in Virginia, California, and North Carolina for almost 20 years. He has been serving as a CK Camp Pastor since 2016. He and his wife, Kerri, have five daughters. Kyle enjoys adventurous food choices, traveling, and spending time with his family.

Raised in a Southern Baptist church, I grew up singing the old songs that are famous in any traditional church-goers heart. My favorite hymn was Victory in Jesus on page 82 in the hymnal there in the back of the pew. Throughout high school, I sang and played guitar for the youth group at the church I attended as well as led worship in the community for various events. I attended the University of North Carolina at Asheville where I found myself a part of a growing Christian group on campus, Campus Crusade for Christ. While in Asheville, I led worship for Cru’s weekly meeting as well as conferences throughout the year. Just prior to graduation, I landed a job at Lifeway’s Ridgecrest Conference Center in Black Mountain, NC. There my relationship with Christ was strengthened and my heart for leading worship grew eminently. From Ridgecrest, I was offered a position on staff at Element Church in Forest City, NC. Shortly after the launch of Hope Community Church, I became the Worship Pastor here.
about the campus
Gardner-Webb is placed in small town Boiling Springs, North Carolina. It is a quiet and clean campus that makes camp feel like the only thing going on in the world. This campus does provide a pool for campers. On Check-In day, campers will be able to take a swim test to swim in the deep end.
in case of bad weather
We communicate with Group Leaders on-site when we know bad weather is coming, and our staff have plans in place whenever storms pop-up unexpectedly.
In case of inclement weather, we use the Voss Gym and other buildings on campus to keep campers safe while still being able to enjoy each activity at camp. Your Camp Director will keep you updated on everything you need to know when conditions like these arise at camp.

HOUSING INFORMATION
For CentriKid, we use Spangler Hall, Myers Hall, Lutz-Yelton, Mauney, Decker, Stroup, and HAPY. Most of the housing is 2 beds per room with a community style bath, few may differ. Campers will need towels and linens. Find more info at https://gardner-webb.edu/student-life/residence-life/housing/.
Housing will be determined when we have received a participant list for each church attending camp for the week.

Dr. Shane Garrison is Professor of Educational Ministries at Campbellsville University School of Theology. Shane has served with CentriKid for ten years as a camp pastor and on the content creation team. He is married to Jennifer and they have two teenage sons.
